Reject Negative Prophecies

TOPIC: THE COUNSEL OF THE LORD
MEMORISE:
“All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” - (2 Timothy 3:16)
READ: PROVERBS 15:22 (KJV)
Without counsel purposes are disappointed: but in the multitude of counsellors they are established.
MESSAGE:
Our Bible reading for today tells us that without counsel, purposes are defeated. In other words, if you plan to do something and you don’t have any advice, you might not be able to achieve it. Proverbs 20:18 says:
Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
Getting advice or counsel, as the Bible calls it, is very needful. Do not begin any endeavour without getting good advice. Proverbs 24:6 says, “...in multitude of counsellors there is safety.” When you surround yourself with many good advisers, you will be safe and unlikely to make costly mistakes in life.
Note that it is not every piece of advice that you should take. God said in Proverbs 8:14 that counsel and sound wisdom are His. Every counsel you take must ultimately be from God, and as such, you should ensure that every bit of advice you receive aligns with the word of God before you accept them. This is because some clever people might come to you with pieces of advice that sound very good but that are ungodly and misleading. God is the best counsellor. In fact, that is one of the names of the Lord Jesus Christ according to Isaiah 9:6.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
Whenever you get advice from anybody, check for what the word of God says concerning it. If you discover that it is not in agreement with the word of God, then you should know that it is not coming from godly wisdom, and you must reject it. This is why you need to know the word of God yourself so that when somebody gives you a bit of advice, you will be able to differentiate if it aligns with the word of God or not. Be like the Berean Christians; always ensure that you search the Scriptures to confirm everything you hear, irrespective of who says it (Acts 17:10-12).
Seek God’s counsel in everything that you do. Study His word and listen to His advice through the mouth of many wise counsellors who are children of God and who understand His word. This way, you will remain on the right path and will not be led astray.

TOPIC: REJECT NEGATIVE PROPHECIES
SCRIPTURE: Then the Lord said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart. JEREMIAH 14:14.
THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Never respect anyone enough to allow them drive your destiny in a negative direction.
Sometime ago, we were preparing to go for a crusade in a country outside Nigeria. One of our pastors said that someone sent him a prophecy from one “prophet” in that country.
Now, the “prophet” in question said something negative concerning our going to that country for the crusade. It was a negative prophecy and according to them, the so-called prophet usually prophesied accurately.
They said that the “prophet” gave the same kind of negative prophecy when a great and renowned evangelist came to that country in time past for a crusade and the prophecy came to pass.
When I heard it, all I said was, “That prophecy will not see the light of day.” And I didn’t pray about it. And that prophecy never saw the light of day. We went and returned from that country in peace, and the crusade was successful.
It was a case of minor prophets trying to prophesy to major prophets. It is important to know that not knowing who you are is not humility.
The revelation of the word is superior to any so-called prophetic revelation from anyone.
On another occasion, I was introduced to an elderly man of God, and I related with him respectfully. Later on, I realised that this man had a vocabulary full of negative prophecies.
As you talk with him, he would begin to say something negative about you. And while the word was yet in his mouth, I would reject and cancel it instantly.
This man of God is old enough to give birth to me. But never respect anyone enough to allow them drive your destiny in a negative direction.
Now think about this, what the devil is trying to show me about myself cannot come to pass, how much more what another person claims the devil shows them about me?
Beloved, let the sure prophecy of the Word of God be your guide in life and destiny.
REMEMBER THIS: Never respect anyone enough to allow them drive your destiny in a negative direction.
ASSIGNMENT:
1. Don’t respect anyone enough to allow them drive your destiny in the negative direction.
2. Bury yourself in the Word of God so you can discern between right and wrong prophecies.
PRAYER: Lord, I ask that You sharpen my spiritual discernment to know the difference between right and false revelations. I reject every negative prophecy over my life and destiny, Lord, in Jesus’ Name.
FOR FURTHER UNDERSTANDING, GET THIS MESSAGE: BORN OF THE WIND.
